Project overview

Divico is a travel expense tracking app designed to simplify how friends manage shared costs on trips. Developed for a two-week design challenge, the project aimed to improve the group travel experience by making expense tracking and splitting clear, fair, and delightful. Initial insights were gathered through interviews and form-based research with 8 participants who frequently travel in groups, helping define the frustrations users often face with money during trips.

The design process began with mapping the user journey, from planning and joining a trip, to logging shared expenses and reviewing balances. Based on user insights, I focused on building core flows like trip creation, real-time activity logs, and a simple yet comprehensive breakdown screen. Each screen was crafted to support transparency and collaboration, allowing users to contribute seamlessly and track who owes what.

Throughout the project, I adopted a user-first approach, testing prototypes at each stage to validate clarity and ease of use. This rapid iterative cycle not only sharpened the interface but also aligned the product vision around trust, visibility, and lighthearted collaboration among friends. Divico ultimately delivers a practical yet charming solution for managing money on the road, without stress.
